Birthday Man!

My dear husband ages another year tomorrow...entering the world of 26. He's just so ancient. The theme for the week is All Brad All Week...so we've spent the weekend just hanging out and relaxing and tonight is our birthday date night. I'm pretty pumped because it's a surprise for him what we'll be doing. He's always being so sweet to me, so I'm excited to surprise him! We'll update that later after he knows where we're headed.

As for new news in the new year...
Starting one week from Thursday, I am officially a day shift nurse. While I am having torn feelings regarding this, I'm REALLY excited to get started and see how it goes. My hope is to finally prepare myself and then get to the CCU maybe in the next year. I really like what I do, day shift is just different than nights, so hopefully the transition will be smooth. Brad is still going to be on a night shift, but we will continue to have three days off together each week, so we'll make it work!

Other than that, we were given a Wii for Christmas from my family, and it's become our favorite toy. Our weakness is Rock Band which we purchased from Lisa and Matt, and it's slightly addicting. By slightly, I mean entirely. I love it. Brad loves it. It's more of that competition we like. We put it away through the week so we're not tempted to play too often, but come the weekends, Rock Band tends to find it's way back to the living room. It's a sickness, but we love it.

I'm a knitting fool, thank you to Amy Bean, and can't be stopped on my days off. Though, I'm currently stuck on a project and frustrated with that. No worries though, it's all in fun.

Life is just great down here. Had a fantastic Christmas break, a fantastic New Year's, work has been nice for both of us, Nearly/Newly is getting ready to start up again, and we've had lots of time to spend with friends. We're truly very blessed. Now, if only we could meet that niece of ours. That's about all for now. Have a great week!

My Heart

Ok, so usually I'm not one to post lyrics. I also don't like to share all my feelings out here, but tonight, and Sunday, I heard this song and it just gets me every single time. I think so often I fall short of His will in my complacency towards what breaks my Father's heart. Worshiping our God with these words, it makes me remember what my prayers should be so, I thought I would share.

I see the king of glory
Coming on the clouds with fire
The whole earth shakes
The whole earth shakes

I see his love and mercy
Washing over all our sin
The people sing
The people sing

Hosanna
Hosanna
Hosanna in the highest

I see a generation
Rising up to take their place
With selfless faith
With selfless faith

I see a near revival
Stirring as we pray and seek
We're on our knees
We're on our knees

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me

Break my heart from what breaks yours
Everything I am for your kingdoms cause
As I go from nothing to
Eternity

Hope you have a great week!

Christmas Crazy!

We had such a great time on our travels at Chrismtas time, we were exhausted after but TOTALLY worth it!

We were able to both spend a whole week up in Indiana before we parted ways and Brad headed back home to Austin, and I was on my way to South Carolina, but it was a fantastic Christmas!

On Sunday we were able to spend the day and evening with Brad's family. We haven't seen his extended family since last winter time so we had so much fun catching up and just relaxing! Ally, Kelsey, and Kenny have all grown so much since we saw them last. They're so grown up! That Sunday it was absolutely bitterly cold in Indiana, and I realized that I have become a huge wimp when it comes to weather. (However, I do maintain that even my Indiana friends and family considered that day HORRIBLY cold! So wimps or not, we weren't alone!) Either way, we had a great meal and a great time just catching up with Brad's parents and his family. We wish we could see them more often!

On Monday, we headed back to Lafayette and spent the rest of the week at my parents' house. We were busy pretty much every minute, but we loved it! I felt like we were able to see most of our friends that were around, although we really missed some of you! Monday I was able to go shopping with Mom, Nana, and Roxanne which was great, and then we had a big family dinner to celebrate our December birthdays of the family. Even Uncle Mark and Aunt Margaret were able to come now that they live in Carmel! It was great! Played some cards afterwards, spent some time with Emily. Doesn't get much better than that.

The rest of the week is a bit of a blur at this point. I know we were busy every day and as alwasy it was so hard to leave! Coming home to Austin though, it was nice to be back to our house. Such a torn feeling.

We had one more day in Lafayette after Christmas, and I did some shopping while Brad hung out with Dad and then we had to leave. It's always sad to leave, but we're hoping to get back soon because the baby is here!!! Not to mention, we're SUPER excited for some visitors this spring and summer!

Speaking of that baby, Sarah and Phil had their new baby girl on Monday! I can't wait to see her! All for now! Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas/New Year's.
